Navy or black construction paper

White or silver paper for the moon

Gold star for the shooting star

Popsicle stick

Scissors

Glitter glue (or glitter and glue), metallic pens, stickers, whatever you want to decorate the sky with!

Cut a diagonal slit in the dark paper ahead of time

 You might also want to cut out moons in advance, depending on time available and age of the kids

Start by having the kids glue the star on one end of the popsicle stick, so it has time to dry while they decorate

Then they can glue the moon on the paper...

And decorate the sky with stars, clouds, swirls--the sky's the limit!

When the star is nice and stuck to the popsicle stick, they can insert it in the slit and slide the shooting star through the sky
